Rites Held Sat. For Mrs. Wade Trantham
Mrs. Wade Trantham, 73, died, Wednesday at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital, after a 1engthy illness. Mrs. Trantham was the former Miss Alma Clayton, daughter of the late Hardy Clayton and Mrs. Peyton Randolph Clayton, a prominent family of Blackland and the Geeville communities. Mr. Clayton was a well known teacher in this county for a number of years.
Mrs. Trantham descended from a
scholarly family, the Randolphs, who were outstanding in the professional
fields of service. Mrs. Clayton's late brothers, Dr. T. L. Randolph of Ripley,
and Dumas, the Rev. Joseph Buyce Randolph was a former Presiding Elder of the
Corinth District. He was serving as pastor of the
Mrs. Trantham, who received her education at Union University, taught in the elementary schools of the county for a period of thirty-eight years, from early womanhood until her retirement. After the completion of her teaching, she continued the various connections through which she rendered services to worthy community projects.
Mrs. Trantham, active in her profession, demonstrated administrative talents of a high order and through her leadership the schools made notable records of progress and in scholarship. She placed greater emphasis on excellence and her pleasing manner contributed much to her success.
Her warmth of humanity found
practical ways of helping others, a motivating force of her endeavors i
throughout a long and useful life. She was affectionate, generous and kind in
her home life and family relationships. With her endearing manner, she held a
loving place in the hearts of her family, friends and neighbors. An active
member of the

John W. True, 70 years of age, and a long-time resident of Booneville died at his home Thursday night of last week at 9:30, following injuries sustained about ten days previous when he was struck by a falling tree which broke his leg and hip. His condition seemed to improve up until a short time before his death, when he suddenly took a turn for the worse.
Funeral services were conducted from the late home Saturday morning, Bro. S. H. Williamson, by request, conducting the ceremony assisted by Bro. W. H. Mounger and Bro. J. D. Thompson and Bro. J. T. Gullett.
Deceased is survived by his wife,
who was formerly Miss Moore, and two sons, Will and Waddy True and one
daughter, Mrs. Lillian Allen, his children all-residing in
Mr. True, during his fifty years' residence here had won a host of friends who deeply mourn his departure. At the time of his accident he was employed in the capacity of manager of Fish Lake and was cleaning up the grounds preparatory to the opening of the fishing and swimming season when injured.

The many friends of Mrs. Pearl Fraser Trull were saddened when they learned of her death last Friday night, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Burns in Booneville.
She was about 48 years of age and
most of her life had been spent in and around Booneville, where she had a host
of friends. She was the daughter of the
late D.
Mrs. Trull is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Ruth Fraser; daughter, Miss Ruth Trull of Booneville; a daughter in Jackson, Tenn.; two sons in Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Davis, Florence, Alabama; and four brothers, Arthur of New Mexico, Fred of Arkansas, and Clovis and Pink of Booneville.
