In Memoriam
Died on the 27th of Sept. at her
home in
The home she made so happy, with beauty, and evidences of refinement, on all sides, is filled with mourning, and upon the hearts of those most deeply bereft, (the husband and son) lies a grief too great for tears. Ah! none may know how they sorrow for the missing voice, and the vanished hands. None know the desolation of that house, where late this loving wife, and noble Christian mother, adorned so nobly her station. In the death of this dear woman, we as her friends, and as a community, feel that our loss is irreparable. In the Church, the Sabbath school, by the couch of the suffering, around the fireside, her influence and labors were known, and appreciated. Her life page is indeed beautiful with a tracery of exalted virtues, and without blot or blemish, lies out before us an example worthy of imitation. How strangely mysterious this dispensation which has removed from rich fields of usefulness (where were sheaves to bind, and golden grains to garner) this Christian laborer! Already dear childish hands, pitiful with orphanage were held out to her for help, and guidance. To us, as mortals, it is a sealed enigma, which God alone can solve. But we know that "He doeth all things well." May the Blessed Christ take the dear childish hands and lead them with his own. May He who "tempereth the winds to the Shorn Lamb," pity the dear bereaved ones in their affliction. May they hear the whispered voice, which tells of the Sunshine after the Storm, of the cross but then the crown, of the White Lilies that grow by the stream inside the Gates, of the willows where the Harps hang, of the shining robes which the faithful wear, of the white Throne from whence comes a welcome: "Through much tribulation you have come up to the "Beautiful city." Faithful have you been over a few things behold I make you ruler over many!"

Born one of 10 children, Mr. Crabb was the last living survivor of James Walter and Elizabeth Heathcock Crabb. Mr. Crabb was a member of the Masonic Lodge, retired teachers association and the First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Church's Men's Sunday School Class. He was actively involved in all three as well as education.
Mr. Crabb leaves behind several nieces and nephews in the area including former Mayor Charles Crabb. Charles Crabb said his uncle's one joy in life was to help children through the field of education. His uncle's love for children and his dedication to teaching helped set him aside in the lives of many as he had taught in nearly every school in Prentiss County.
Born in eastern Prentiss County and traveling to new areas to continue his teaching profession, one could only wonder the impact Mr. Prentiss Crabb has had on so many throughout the years.
Mr. Crabb's return to Prentiss

and many people will never soon forget him. May God Bless us All, The Prentiss
